Most remedies are effective against more than one symptom. In order to provide intelligent selection options, each remedy has several symptoms listed. To facilitate your choice, certain symptoms are highlighted in bold type. These symptoms are those often associated with that remedy. The other symptoms should be considered in your selection if they are part of the condition.

Consult your homeopathic health professional for potency and other specifics. General dosage and other directions are given on the label.

The following remedies are now available:

Dulcamara
(Bittersweet)
Colds/rheumatism from being cold/wet. Acute and chronic eczema, hives, rashes, warts. Cough and flu.

Hot days and cold nights toward the close of summer are especially favorable to the action of Dulcamara. It is one of the remedies that correspond in their symptoms to the conditions found as in effects of damp weather, colds after exposure to wet, and especially diarrhea. It has a specific relation also to the skin, glands, and digestive organs. Mucous membranes secreting more profusely while the skin is inactive. The rheumatic troubles induced by damp cold are aggravated by every cold change and somewhat relieved by moving about. Results from sitting on cold, damp ground. Icy coldness. One-sided spasms with speechlessness.

Catarrh of the digestive and respiratory tracts. Griping pains, offensive flatus and loose yellowish stool. Drowsiness was a very marked feature. The symptoms were worse after eating, in evening, after physical of mental exertion; Better by lying down, and by rest. In two provers there was found a diminution of red blood corpuscles after the proving. There is much chilliness (coldness of right leg), and sensitiveness to cold, worse from exposure to cold air.

Pains in abdomen come and go suddenly, and are better by bending double.

Eupatorium perfoliatum
(Thoroughwort/Bone-set)
Bone and muscle pain. Cold and flu symptoms. Various fevers, flu. Arthritic and rheumatic symptoms. Stiffness.

Eup-per. is an old-world remedy, having been recommended by Dioscorides for ill-conditioned ulcers, dysentery, stings of reptiles, chronic fevers, obstructed liver. The leading characteristic for its homeopathic use is the distressing bone-pains it causes, such as are found in connection with malarial fevers and influenza. Bone-pains of all descriptions appear under Eup-per.

Soreness will be found running throughout the proving: headache with soreness internally, parietal protuberances sore, with pain and soreness in eyeballs, cough with extreme soreness down trachea, soreness of chest, aching in limbs throughout the body. A characteristic cough of Eup-per. was better by getting on hands and knees. The chills of Eup-per. begin in the small of the back, with aching in the limbs as though every bone in the body were being broken, high fever with increased aching, followed by sweat scanty or profuse; sweat better all pains except headache, which is worse. Periodicity is marked. There may be a double periodicity: Chill morning one day, evening the next.

The liver is strongly affected by Eup-per., bilious vomiting and diarrhea, bilious sick-headaches, cough arising from irritation of liver. Catarrhal symptoms are prominent. Nocturnal loose cough. Hoarseness with aching soreness of trachea. Hoarse, rough cough with scraping in bronchia. Cough with soreness, compelling the patient to hold his chest with his hands. Stiffness and general soreness. Cannot twist body either while standing, sitting, or lying. Cannot lie in bed on account of a feeling as if every bone was bruised, causing despair, moaning, and crying out. Sleepiness and yawning. Sensation as if falling to left. Pain and extreme tenderness of left glutei muscles.

Hale describes the fever of Eup-per. as follows: "The chill is nearly always in the morning, and is preceded for several hours by thirst, soreness and aching of the bones. The thirst continues during the chill and heat. The chill is attended by nausea, vomiting of bile, intense aching and soreness in the flesh of the extremities, and often all over the body. These symptoms continue during the heat, especially the vomiting, which is often painful and incessant. The heat is apt to be prolonged until evening or into the night, and may be followed or not by sweat (with chilliness). If no sweating occurs the apyrexia is short and attended by chilliness, nausea, thirst, and debility; showing that the febrile action never altogether subsides, giving a true type of remittent fever in which Boneset is often our best remedy, especially if occurring in summer and autumn, and is attended by very severe bilious symptoms."

Lying on back worse cough. Kneeling with face towards pillow better cough. Rising up better headache. Eating causes violent distressing pains which are only relieved by vomiting. There is intense thirst, but drinking cold water causes shuddering and vomiting of bile. Chilliness predominates, wants to be covered, better in house, worse in open air, worse after being in ice-house. I have found Eup-per. most useful in influenza.

Acute inflammatory rheumatism.

Schüssler deduced the following indications for Iron:

"When the muscular cells which have grown flaccid through loss of iron receive a compensation for their loss, the normal tensional relation is restored, the annular fibres of the blood-vessels are shortened to their proper measure. The capacity of these vessels again becomes normal, the hyperemia disappears, and in consequence the inflammatory fever ceases.

Iron will cure: 1. The first stage of all inflammations. 2. Pains 3. Hemorrhages caused by hyperemia 4. Fresh wounds, contusions, sprains, etc., as it removes the hyperemia.

The pains which correspond to iron are increased by motion, but relieved by cold. In the muscle-cells iron is found in the form of a phosphate, we should therefore in therapeutics use Ferrum phosphoricum."
